The Functional Behavioral Approach (FBA) is a way of responding to youth and family "big behavior" that focuses specifically on the underlying needs, strengths and skills of youth. It teaches individualized responses to youth and families and aspires to achieve a precision of fit that insures needs are met not through the delivery of service, rather through the recognition of youth and family needs.
Based on Dr. Ross Greene's Collaborative Problem Solving approach, the philosophical belief of FBA is that KIDS DO WELL WHEN THEY CAN and that it's OUR interpretation of behavior guides our intervention.
