American Academy of Pediatrics - Behavioral and Mental Health - all kinds of information on behavioral and mental health related to children including descriptions of various diagnosis.

American Psychological Association  Based in Washington, DC, the American Psychological Association (APA) is a scientific and professional organization that represents psychology in the United States. With 150,000 members, APA is the largest association of psychologists worldwide.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, UCLA School Mental Health Project  Scholastic Inc. has created an initiative called: Rebuilding for Learning.tm To pursue that facet of the initiative that focuses on improving learning supports for all children, Scholastic’s Community Affairs Unit has formed a public-private collaboration with our Center at UCLA. The intent is to provide education leaders with meaningful and ongoing learning opportunities around planning and implementing improved policies, practices, and systems for addressing barriers to learning and teaching.

Juvenile Justice & Mental Health Resources

Resources on Mental Health Needs and Juvenile Justice Youth from Connect for Kids (CFK) website - Many young people in the juvenile justice system have serious mental health problems that need treatment; and many young people with such problems end up in juvenile justice facilities because they lack access to treatment in their communities. CFK has compiled information on the challenges and effective solutions.

Public Schools & Mental Health Resources

National Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention - The National Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention provides training and technical assistance to Safe Schools/Healthy Students and Project LAUNCH and works with school districts and communities as they plan, implement, and sustain initiatives that foster resilience, promote mental health, and prevent youth violence and mental and behavioral disorders.

National Center for Response to Intervention  Response to intervention integrates assessment and intervention within a multi-level prevention system to maximize student achievement and to reduce behavior problems.

Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports Technical Assistance Center  The TA Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports has been established by the Office of Special Education Programs, US Department of Education to give schools capacity-building information and technical assistance for identifying, adapting, and sustaining effective school-wide disciplinary practices.

University of Maryland Center for School Mental Health  The mission of the Center for School Mental Health (CSMH) is to strengthen policies and programs in school mental health to improve learning and promote success for America's youth.

Mind Your Mind - a resource for youth created by youth; it's a group in Canada but the information relates here too.

Youth As Resource  (YAR) is a community-based youth philanthropy and youth voice program, funded by the Rochester-Monroe County Youth Bureau and the Rochester Area Community Foundation.

Youth M.O.V.E National is a youth led national organization devoted to improving services and systems that support positive growth and development by uniting the voices of individuals who have lived experience in various systems including mental health, juvenile justice, education, and child welfare.

Youth Power  is the New York State network of young people with disabilities and/or social-emotional challenges.  Together, we have decided to speak up about our experiences because no one knows what it is like for us better than we do.  Through peer to peer mentoring, we empower young people to be active citizens, aware of government operations, their rights and the ability to use their voices to influence policies, practices, regulation and law.

Crestwood Children's Center (Hillside Family of Agencies) - Crestwood serves children from birth through 21 years of age

Hillside Children's Center - Hillside Children's Center has now been serving youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental disorders for decades. Services include therapeutic foster care, adoption, residential, day treatment, juvenile justice, developmental disabilities, preventive, independent living, and school-based services.

Rochester General Behavioral Health - We handle everyday problems and situations immediately - and we treat the behavioral aspects of common health problems, which can account for as many as 60% of all patient health concerns.

St. Joseph's Villa - The agency specializes in helping at-risk youth overcome serious emotional and behavioral challenges and build lifelong strengths through a network of high quality programs and services.

URMC Strong Behavioral Health - The Department’s clinical arm now is called, “Strong Behavioral Health,” which comprises a wide variety of ambulatory and inpatient services and programs.  Its clinical mission includes providing care for the severely mentally ill of all ages and working collaboratively with its colleagues in other areas of medicine and mental health.

Rochester Psychiatric Center - Rochester Psychiatric Center provides quality individualized psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation services that promote recovery. Services include: Adult inpatient, residential, and community support programs; adolescent inpatient, residential and community support programs; and forensic inpatient programs.

Unity Health Systems - Unity Mental Health provides a full range of mental health services for children, adolescents, adults, and families.

DrugWatch - DrugWatch.com, aims to educate the public about prescription and over-the-counter medications, drug recalls, medication interactions, and current developments in the medical field.

Tardive Dyskinesia Center - At the Tardive Dyskinesia Center their aim is to educate the public about tardive dyskinesia, a serious movement disorder with symptoms similar to Parkinson's disease. Tardive dyskinesia can develop in patients who have been treated with certain prescription antipsychotics.
